LIC LIC's Amritbaal (Plan No. 874): Full Guide, Eligibility & Premium
25 January 2026 · 6 min read · Endowment Plans
LIC's Amritbaal belongs to LIC's endowment plans family. In one line: a child's education fund with guaranteed additions
Eligibility at a glance — entry age 30 days to 13 years (child); sum assured ₹2,00,000 and above; policy term Maturity at age 18 to 25. Anything outside those bands will simply not be issued, so check them before you plan the premium.
What the plan actually gives you: Guaranteed addition of ₹80 per ₹1,000 basic sum assured per year Single premium or limited premium options Maturity timed to education milestones Settlement option to receive maturity in instalments Those are the contractual features; bonus or market-linked components, where they apply, are declared by LIC each year and are not guaranteed in advance.
Who it suits: Parents and grandparents saving for school, college or higher studies. If that does not describe your situation, there is usually a better-fitting plan in the same family, and it costs nothing to ask.
Before you sign, run LIC's Amritbaal through the premium calculator on this site with your own age, sum assured and term. Seeing the yearly outgo next to the projected maturity value is the fastest way to know whether the plan fits your cash flow — and the fastest way to spot a mis-sold recommendation.
